Creative Body Works provides videos for relaxation, stretch and other health and
body related issues.
As you are probably aware, stretching is an important component
of your physical and mental fitness. The benefits range from injury prevention to just
feeling good. By stretching you will increase your performance skills in all of your
activities as well as building strength while enhancing circulation. Additionally we
are moving at such an accelerated pace today that we barely have time to breathe, let
alone breathe efficiently. Our relaxation videos provide a soothing, stress relieving
mind and body connection.
Your Instructor on these videos is Katherine Steadman, a dedicated dance educator,
performer and prolific choreographer who has concentrated her work in Southern
California since 1972. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University
of California, Irvine. Ms. Steadman has directed and choreographed many concerts
and theatre productions and has also found time to sit on adjudication panels for
dance festivals, scholarship auditions and certifications. Her teaching career has
taken her to numerous college campuses and private studios; including Santa Ana
College, Cerritos College, Goldenwest College, Saddleback College, Irvine Valley
College and the University of California, Irvine. She holds teaching certifications
in Cecchetti Classical Ballet Technique, Personal Training, Aerobic Instruction and
Pilates Technique. She is a presenter in the fitness industry and has currently
produced nine videos on flexibility and alternative fitness methods. Several
national magazines have published interviews with her on the subject of flexibility
training. The scope of her interests and influence is far reaching and continues to
evolve.
Although her roots lie in dance, she has always been drawn to alternative fitness techniques.
Over the last 25 years she has studied, mastered, and taught such methods as Yoga, Alexander,
Pilates, Dance Stretches, Stability Ball, P.N.F. Stretching, Acupressure, and Injury
Management to name a few. Her quest to open the body and the mind is a life's work. She
continuously seeks new approaches, new material, ideas, and deeper self-awareness.
"All movement has validity. Finding what is appropriate and works for us as
individuals is our personal challenge"
